At low tide along Borth Beach, the famous "fossil forest" is sometimes visible, depending on sand-movements. It's best to
look after a big storm has scoured the beach. About 6,500 years old, it records a time when sea-levels were lower and
the coastline was about a kilometre out to the west. Here's a detail of the wood, sandblasted clean after a big gale.
