The big Dyfi floods that close the A487 out to Dyfi Bridge mostly occur between October and April. This one was the day after
the night when the remains of ex-tropical storm Laura paid us a visit, in October 2008. The standing wave is due to the water
rising over the kerb. Floods of this strength can rip up sections of tarmac and are definitely not worth trying to drive through!
