The Dyfi Valley and Machynlleth within the "warm conveyor". Sou-westerly winds in winter bring mild very moist air up from the tropics. On ramping up over the Welsh mountains the air is cooled and dumps its moisture. As a result, rainfall totals of 250mm over 48 hours are not unheard-of!
