At low tide along Borth Beach, the famous "fossil forest" is sometimes visible, depending on sand-movements. It's best to
look after a big storm has scoured the beach. After extreme scouring (rare), the bed of grey clay full of 6,500-year-old roots
that sits below the peat and the tree-stumps is revealed - this was in January 2007.
