The Plynlimon massif: the northerly limit of the higher ground is marked by great escarpment-like slopes, incised in places by deep ravines. Moel Fadian is the summit L, whilst just over the top of the slopes lies the small lake of Glaslyn: it and its surrounding moors are a nature reserve managed by the Montgomery Wildlife Trust.
