The Plynlimon massif: the Glaslyn Nature Reserve is situated at its northern limit, beyond which
steep, scarp-like slopes fall away down into the farmlands and woods of the Dyfi catchment. The
slope is incised at one point by a great canyon-like ravine, about 320m deep. This view is looking
northwards out of it, from about 2/3 of the way up its western slope  - the scree-slopes are so mobile
that heather only manages to cling on here and there. The Tarrenau and Cadair Idris form the backdrop.
