Not many ways in or out of Machynlleth after the remains of Tropical Storm Laura paid us a visit in October 2008! The railway bridge is a noted flood-trap. There's a dip under it that catches many out, thinking if they take a run at it they'll make it to the dry road beyond. Diesel engines get "bent" here pretty much every time there's a flood - the water under the bridge can be 2-3ft deep. If it says "Road Closed" it means it! Product number 2000-2009695.
