The Dyfi Valley and Machynlleth

Machynlleth, the old market-town close to the first bridge over the Dyfi, is an oft-photographed place - scarcely a day goes by without someone pointing a camera at its famous Clocktower. Here, I've captured other aspects of the town and its surroundings in a variety of different conditions - from uncommon heavy snow to the floods that occur most years and which always make an interesting subject to tackle.

Flowers and Wildlife

Spring is arguably the best time of year here in the Dyfi Valley, with woodlands and hedgerows alike ablaze with flowers and the first butterflies appearing. It's one of the best areas I know for its wayside colour at this time of year - and the  raptors are active, too, with the ever-present chance of catching a spectacular aerial squabble!

The Dysinni Valley

I've not photographed this lovely valley as much as I should have done, but the striking Bird Rock has often caught my eye whilst
out following storms - it changes so much with the light!
